Although I did not have a good finish at Wheeler Lake I managed to finish 17th overall in the point standings. As you know by now I qualified for the Wild Card down on Lake Okeechobee. The other really cool thing that happened to me is that I was invited to Strike King’s annual writer’s conference down at Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee. The awesome thing about this trip was that I got to hang out with the best fishermen in the world for 3 days. That’s right, Kevin VanDam, Mark Davis, Denny Brauer, James Niggemeyer, Mark Menendez, and the rest of the Strike King pros.I personally interviewed several of these guys and will have many good stories to come.

Chris Brown, marketing manager for Strike King did a fantastic job setting everything up from the writers and photographers to the great hospitality. I can't thank Chris enough for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to participate in this. I had a great time!
